La Marzocco KIT GROUP HOME GASKET, SCREW & SHOWER
The group gasket provides a seal between the portafilter and the group.
This particular version has a special shape that makes it more flexible
and it was first introduced in our home machines to increase ease of use.
This gasket, as well as the new silicone one (orange), can be fitted in
place of the traditional gasket to have a softer seal that requires less
force and less stress on the barista.
failure mode:
The gasket gets brittle with age and worn with use. Leaking around
portafilter when extracting coffee or back-flushing. Replace Gasket. Note,
it is important to inspect the edge of the basket for damage, as this can
also cause leaking in this area.
